The Winchester jammed in ice just above the lock

Shot of the MV Winchester caught in a massive ice jam just above the Hannibal Lock at about 4:00 PM, Friday March 6th, 2015. The ice jam it is caught in stretches about 2 miles, and nothing has locked through Hannibal for over 24 hours.

The Ohio Valley River Museum will be hosting our first membership meeting on May 17th, 2014. During the meeting, we will be voting to approve our by-laws. Members who would like to review the by-laws prior to the meeting can do so here on our website.

scf2012-25The Board of Trustees decided at last night’s meeting that the dedication of the J. Mack Gamble Exhibit would have its date changed to the weekend of the Sunfish Creek Festival, which will take place in June. Stay tuned for further details.

scf2012-03The Ohio Valley River Museum is pleased to announce the 2014 Winter Antique Appraisal, which will be held at the Ohio Valley River Museum, 112 Ferry Street, Clarington. The event has been moved from its original date to a snow date of Saturday, March 8th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Appraiser Jeffrey Spear of Garth’s Auctions, Inc, Columbus, OH, will be on hand to do the appraising.

Antique_AppraisalCost is $10 for one item, $15 for two, $20 for three, and $25 for up to five items. All proceeds will be donated directly to the museum. A complimentary cup of soup will be served with each appraisal, and sandwiches and desserts will be available for purchase.


Ladies: Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 22, 2014, which will be the next Ladies Day at the Museum.
